Profile: Grant Speigle

Grant Speigle started his college experience at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College after graduating from Conemaugh Township Area High School in 2012. While earning a degree in Criminal Justice at Penn Highlands, he became an integral part of the growing men’s basketball program.

Grant was drawn to Penn Highlands after high school because of the warming atmosphere it offered students. “The education, the staff, the friends, and the basketball program; all of them combined made Pennsylvania Highlands feel like a home away from home. Everybody was friendly and knew everyone else by name. Any time I needed help, someone was always available,” commented Grant Speigle.

Grant enjoyed his Criminal Justice classes and professors so much that he decided to make a career for himself in it. Grant is now on his way to becoming a state trooper, and he credits his professors, both Dr. Robert Clark and Mr. Dennis Miller.

Looking back, Grant feels starting his career at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College was the smartest option. He was able to save money due to its affordability, while also being able to discover what he wanted to do with his life.
